Keely is a Fox Red purebred Labrador Retriever. Â She is three years old and we got her when she was a 9 week old puppy. Ranger is a Boxer and Wheaten Terrier mix. Â We got him just before his 8th week.
I was always a cat person and we got Duke (over the rainbow bridge) when the youngest kidlets were three and six-ish? He was from a lab rescue and was almost two when we got him. Â He was a big loving guy. Â It was five months after he crossed the rainbow bridge when we went for a drive to “look” at the puppies at the breeder. Â Well we were looking a little chocolate brown runt who was really cute. Â Then the breeder showed us Keely and her twin. Â The twin just lay at our feet getting belly rubs and Keely ran around us, then into the electrified fenced area to say hi to her mom and dad and back around us in what we would later describe as her “crazy puppy” antics. Â We fell in love with her pink nose and green eyes, she’s what they call a “Dudley” lab as she doesn’t have the black nose and Fox red or red labs are really a “yellow” as per the CKC and AKC.
Then Ranger…well Ranger came to us via my son’s co-worker whose boxer made nice with his girlfriend’s rescued Wheaten Terrier. Â The litter of pups was such a mix. Â Ranger’s twin was the one that was claimed by the owners and we were looking at a fawn but something about Ranger caught my hubby’s eye. Â Well we got Ranger or put a deposit on him and waited patiently for him to grow up more. Â My hubby likes to say we are the only people he knows that got a puppy for their dog for a 1st birthday present and NO I was not allowed to continue.
Today Keely and Ranger have become a bonded pair. Â You can’t take one anywhere without the other because they both will cry without the other. Â They have their own Instagram page at keelyandranger

Journey with me…mini2z
I’m a little okay maybe a lot late but I’m hooking up with Jen at Ramblings of a Suburban mom for my Thursday Thoughts.
I sent a photo of my daughter and her friends from her prom to our local paper and they were added to the paper’s blog. Then I started a facebook group to let them know and somehow it’s now the Squad + Mom. My daugher was absolutely stunning in her prom dress with her hair down and make up on.

A local charity had a bunch of designer gowns given to them and they were selling them for $75-100. Â Weill I went and picked one up. Â I just love the colours in it. I’m really not feeling well at all and I had to chop my head off in the photo but you get the idea.
My poor pupalup Ranger has been itching and scratching at his face. Â We’ve been giving him Benadryl as prescribed but last night his eye was bloody. Â We were able to get him in to his vet’s today. Â He thankfully didn’t damage his eye. Â He’s got an antibiotic and some strong meds to help with his allergies. Â We think he’s allergic to our ornamental crab tree. Â He was having fun playing with the dog at the vet.
I don’t that I look like crap in yoga clothes but I’m thankful I have a photo of me and my baby girl on her prom night. Even though I was having a bad day illness wise I’m glad I got to see her. Â I love you Se!
PS my daughter and her friends asked each other, “does anyone read your mom’s blog?”
