Currently, I’m journeying through the day-to-day, ups and downs of finding my new normal with several invisible illnesses. I’m currently on long-term disability due to the wonders of my screwed up immune system.
The Invisible Illnesses
The seven invisible illnesses I’m currently battling are Hashimoto’s Thyroid disease, Chronic Migraines, Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults also know as LADA type 1.5 diabetic, Lupus SLE, and Fibromyalgia along with chronic pain and all the side effects of the illnesses. Hashimoto’s, LADA and Lupus SLE all are autoimmune diseases and once you get one it’s likely that you’ll get more. I feel so lucky that they’re multiplying (insert sarcasm here). I’ve recently been added to the rare disease category with the diagnosis of Gastroparesis; basically, my stomach doesn’t work and it’s a complication of diabetes. I’ve also been given a diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS.
I have two adult children, known as the kidlets; only one who still lives at home. My son is 23 has moved really far away with his amazing girlfriend in pursuit of his career goals. My daughter is 20 years old who is in her 3rd year of nursing. I have two wonderful adult stepchildren and blessed with an amazing daughter in law. I also refer to them as my kidlets.
I also have two fur babies (aka the pupalups) Keely our fox-red Labrador and Ranger our Brindle Boxer Wheaton Terrier Mix. You can follow them on Instagram at @keelyandranger where they have almost 700 followers.
I have an addiction to subscription boxes, wine, hammocks, books, photography and a serious case of Wanderlust. My husband won’t let me put a hammock in the house…
Grab a cuppa tea or wine and journey with me.
