About Me:

Currently, I’m journeying through the day-to-day, ups and downs of finding my new normal with several invisible illnesses.  I’m currently on long-term disability due to the wonders of my screwed up immune system.

The Invisible Illnesses

The five invisible illnesses I’m currently battling are Hashimoto’s Thyroid disease, Chronic Migraines, Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults also know as LADA type 1.5 diabetic, Lupus SLE, and Fibromyalgia along with chronic pain and all the side effects of the illnesses.  Hashimoto’s, LADA and Lupus SLE all are autoimmune diseases and once you get one it’s likely that you’ll get more.  I feel so lucky that they’re multiplying (insert sarcasm here).

I have two adult children, known as the kidlets; only one who still lives at home. My son is 23 has moved really far away with his amazing girlfriend in pursuit of his career goals.  My daughter is 20 years old who is in her 3rd year of nursing.  I have two wonderful adult stepchildren and blessed with an amazing daughter in law.  I also refer to them as my kidlets.

I also have two fur babies (aka the pupalups) Keely our fox-red Labrador and Ranger our Brindle Boxer Wheaton Terrier Mix. You can follow them on Instagram at @keelyandranger where they have almost 700 followers.

I have an addiction to subscription boxes, wine, hammocks, books, photography and a serious case of Wanderlust. My husband won’t let me put a hammock in the house…

Grab a cuppa tea or wine and journey with me.

  • Sorry for the painsomnia,,😕I can relate. Hope you have better ?luck getting your blog out than I do. I think of so much to say when I’m doing other things , then I forget. And never mind taking notes, I forget before I get to notes on my phone or on paper. I really don’t like what this stuff does to our brains. Not to mention what it does to our body. Looking forward to your blog !😄also I do not have lupus or MS. ..I kn ow a lot of off people who do. Relatives, friends etc. I have fms/mecfs, shingles, migrains, anxiety and ddd and those things. Wishing you well, and less painful days and nights….

    • My brain comes up with lots of blog posts or ideas and the poof. Then there are those days I can’t even look at the computer xx

      • Glad to hear I’m not the only one with that problem. What got you started blogging? Was it your lack of good health or your wander lust ? Or maybe family ?I love reading others bligs, but can’t get motivated to do mine. Or find the energy to keep my brain on track. I gather you aren’t working anylonger. Im6 Not either. Which to me is sad. I really li.ked working.

        • Originally it was just a way for me to easily journal about what we were doing on our 17 day Europe trip and then I lost track of it. Then the depression come with the illnesses as they started stacking up and I remembered I feel so much better writing. Thanks for asking!

      • Sorry for so many questions,,but I am having a problem finding dates for blogs. Did you stop for a while? Or am I missing some of your blogs. I really like your Blog and I found your twitter post. Thanks for your post, you have no idea how much they mean to me. 😄

        • Thank you so much!
Yes I did for a while when work, depression, sleep, lack of sleep and trying to stay afloat just was a struggle. I didn’t open my Twitter up until recently and didn’t use it as much as I do now. 140 characters is sometimes all I can get out between all the wonderful crappy issues with all the illnesses. My pups have their own Instagram which is keelyandranger which was my personal IG before I realized that they had 500 followers so I created a new one for me after I started blogging about everything. I would say I started back in April of last year.

  • Ok, I see why you did. Too much pain and too much to do..I just looked at a lot of your pics on Instagram, and I love your puppy dogs…💕 All 3 of our four legged babies have gone too puppy heaven. We had a chocolate lab, and two mixed, part wolfl and who knows what else,, brother and sister babies. .I miss them so much.. They were my best friends.
